The National Incubation Center Peshawar is proud to join hands with the Enlight Lab’s initative Flood.pk, to help with relief and rehabilitation activities of the flood victims across Pakistan. Flood.pk is an initiative of the Enlight Lab, a civil society non-profit organization working out of NIC Peshawar’s co-working space since 2019. NIC Peshawar and the Enlight Lab entered into an MoU in 2019 and have collaborated on multiple ecosystem development initiatives such as Startup Hackathons, Startup Weekends, seminars, conferences and other social and civic events.
In phase one, Flood.pk developed a crowdsourced platform providing real-time data on flood affected areas, relief camps, relief needs, list of volunteers, donors, and other flood-related data to help flood affectees, relief teams, and the government. The data is easily accessible to all internet users and seamlessly connects people with the government and other organizations who are actively taking part in the management of the flood relief activities.
In phase two with the help of NIC Peshawar, Flood.pk aims to incorporate a crowd funding feature into its platform to collect donations in order to begin rehabilitation activities. NIC Peshawar will be utilizing the products and services of its startups in order to develop rehabilitation kits to be distributed among the flood victims. NIC Peshawar and the Enlight Lab are also bringing on board local manufacturers to provide shelters on subsidized rates. The process of collecting donations and their spending will be public data which can be viewed on the website.
